CELEBRATING BLACK MATERNAL HEALTH WEEK 2024 As we observe Black Maternal Health Week 2024, Alliance for Early Success Human Resources consultant Annette Richards shares her experience becoming grandmother twice in the calming presence of doulas.
In partnership with the Alliance for Early Success, ZERO TO THREE (ZTT) launched a new opportunity for state advocates, an Early Intervention (EI) Advocacy Learning Collaborative. This introductory experience is for advocates who wish to become more familiar with EI and more active in this critical state policy area. By creating this space to deepen understanding of the Early Intervention system, advocates will get ideas, inspiration and knowledge from one another, leading to positive change in their states.
Doulas have been embraced as an effective method to improve birth outcomes, prompting many states to consider requiring doula services to be included as a benefit under Medicaid and, in some states, private insurance. While this policy change has the potential to contribute to reduced rates of preterm birth, low birthweight, and NICU admissions among other benefits, the way in which doula coverage is implemented has a significant impact on its utility for pregnant people and their families. In this webinar, learn more how to implement doula coverage in ways that stay true to the principles and values of the doula model.
EDITORIAL Alliance Executive Director Helene Stebbins shares the findings of the Convergence Collaborative on Supports for Working Families—a cross-partisan group of 32 leaders representing different political, ideological, and industry perspectives. Their final report, In This Together: A Cross-Partisan Action Plan to Support Families with Young Children in America, is a blueprint for consensus action.

The Alliance for Early Success announced today that Courtney D. Lee has joined the organization as its Deputy Director of Staff, Equity, and Culture. In this newly created position, Lee will lead the development and implementation of the Alliance’s human resources strategy and further develop the organization’s workplace culture of purpose, continuous learning, innovation, and belonging.
